8 things goto remember before you step into a bridal shop
Wedding-dress shopping—it’s fun and exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. But don’t freak out! In this article, bridal shop owners adorebridal.sg shares their best tips for a stress-free yet fruitful wedding dress shopping experience to make sure you find “the one”
1. Money, money, money…
Know your budget and stick to it as much as possible. The worst thing a couple can do is to choose a bridal package that’s way out of their budget, and then fall in love with it . After that, it’ll be hard to find another that you love just as much in your budget. One way to safeguard your experience: Tell the bridal shop your budget when you make your appointment. If the shop doesn’t have packages in your price range nor are they willing to offer further discount for you, they’ll let you know. We can save everyone’s time and sweat.
2. Clear your calendar.
Set aside at least two special days just for dress shopping and make-up trial. You want to be fresh and relaxed, as finding your gown is such a special time. Visiting at least two to three boutiques so that you see enough dresses to find what you love but not so many that the confusion sets in.
3.Go glam.
You’ll be all dolled up on your wedding day, so why not do the same when you’re trying on dresses? Fix your hair and makeup so you feel your absolute prettiest the day you’re trying on the gowns. If that is not possible, try putting on light make up on on that day to prevent a tired and worn out look.
4. Bring the appropriate lingerie.
Bring some nude underwear you don’t mind showing off. Bridal shop staff will help you try on dresses. So skip the thongs and wear something you’re some comfortable in. A supportive strapless or backless bra will make you feel comfortable in the dress and let you see it properly
5. Your something blue…
Bring along special family items, heirloom jewelry that you plan to wear on the wedding day.
6. Bring your trusted companions, but not too many of them
Surround yourself with people you love, you bestie, your mum, your sister or anyone that need to “sign off” the dress. Call in advance to check with the shop how many people they can accommodate.
7. Plan early.
Book your bridal package at least nine to eight months in advance. This gives you plenty of time to secure your chosen wedding gowns as popular gowns are out of stock fast. Time is also needed for any size alterations.
8. Confidence and Joy
Remember you are beautiful the way you are. Have fun, relax and remember the shop is there to help you find a dress that you look amazing in. The most beaufiful thing you wear on your big day is your smile.
